Interview With Tech Blogger Mudassir From NettyFeed

  • Hi, Welcome to Etechexplorer. Could you please share a bit about yourself?

Answer: Hi, Myself Mudassir, Firstly I’d like to thank Akshay Naik from etechexplorer for featuring my blogging story.

I’m a blogger and entrepreneur from Bengaluru, India. I’m an engineer by mistake and later I found my interest in business management. So I’ve decided to do my M.B.A and was successful in it. Currently, I have 6 years of experience which is categorized into sales-marketing, business management, and company operations. And also I’m proud to say that I’m one of the co-founders at Telecommunications product based company in Bengaluru.

  • When and how did you get introduced to blogging?

Answer: I was introduced to the blogging in the year 2016. I was always had been interesting in browsing new things on Google, writing stories, online marketing. I used to Google everything from that time.

Fortunately one day I’ve found a story of Harsh Agarwal from ShoutMeLoud on the internet. Right the moment I got inspired and decided to start my own blog. But I didn’t have any idea about it. So, I searched it and found some useful resources. Firstly I started the free blog using blogspot and gained some experience out of it.

After a few days, I’ve bought the domain and started NettyFeed.com and then I started learning about blogging, SEO, and Social media. That’s how it started

  • What your NettyFeed blog is all about? How did you think to name it?

NettyFeed is all about inspiring entrepreneurs’ journeys, startup stories, and tech news. It’s the definitive platform for upcoming entrepreneurs. One can find useful resources in the field of startups, digital marketing, technology, and blogging.

Coming to the name part, initially, I had planned to start with the name ‘thenetskype’. Then I started the process to get the domain name. Somewhere I’ve read that Skype I cannot use in my domain name as it was already registered under trademark from Skype. So, I quit and suddenly the name NettyFeed got clinched in my mind. And that’s how NettyFeed is today before you.

  • How do you manage your daily blogging routine? And how do you stay productive? How many hours a week do you spend on your blog?

Being a director of a startup company is not an easy job. Since it’s a two-year startup, only my partner and I manage everything; right from sales to support. So, I don’t get much time to spend on blogging on daily basis.

I stay productive by always working towards my passion. On an average of I spend 10 hours a week on blogging.

  • What are the strengths you think have helped you to become a better blogger? Do you wish to learn any new skill that you think will help you further?

To be a better blogger we don’t need rocket science talent or deep tech knowledge. There are 100’s of articles on Google that helps any new individual to start a new blog and monetize it. All you need is the patience and go-get attitude. Of course, learning new things on your own makes you more confident to achieve anything big in your life.

Yes, currently I’m focusing more on time management. Because I feel that I fail in prioritizing things in my daily life. After all managing, a home, firm and blog is not an easy job.

  • What’s the one thing you’ve done that has increased your traffic the most?

Increasing site traffic is not a single topic. It’s vast and yes, it takes definitive time to increase any website traffic.

You need to focus from ground level things like as building good design site, working on On-site and Off-site SEO, writing valuable content etc.

Moreover, behind all of these, you need to focus more on promoting your content.

Writing good content won’t get us the expected traffic, but promoting it gets us. So it’s not the one thing we should work on. There are multiple areas as I mentioned above.

  • Many people start their blog and discontinue after some time. What do you think is the most frustrating aspect of blogging?

Yes, I see that as a concern. Blogging has become one of the most growing and influential careers in the world. Many students starting from their university levels are planning to start their own blogs. I see there are millions of blogs across the globe today.

Most of the startup bloggers quit their blog after 3 or 4 months due to lack of knowledge and patience. What my view is that blogging requires patience more than anything. It’s not one day or one month job. It’s the consistent patience along with hard work makes the blogger succeed in his/her career.

  • Did you face any obstacle? Please share about your early blogging mistakes if any

There are pros and cons if you blog alone as you have to design an attractive site, connect with brands, creating content, promoting it, statistics etc on your own.

As a new blogger, I was always looking for easy ways to get huge traffic to my site. In that process, I used multiple free traffic bot programs which affected my blog a little and later on, I found that doing such things would lead to penalization of my site, so I stopped.

Also digging out good content for readers is also one of the biggest challenges.

  • So far, which is the most awesome moment in your blogging journey?

Frankly speaking, there are no such huge achievements for me. But I managed to get the handful of readers and they genuinely love my platform and appreciates my hard work.

Getting featured on platforms like SkillInfinity, Tekkibytes will boost my confidence and passion.

Also, getting positive reviews on my Facebook page will give me huge confidence and satisfaction.

  • What are your next blogging plans?

Recently I’ve changed my platform design by keeping it simple and attractive. We’ve also started featuring blogging stories which inspire our readers to start something on their own.

My plans are to share more valuable content as like always and get more readers on to my site. Definitely, I’d like to take this platform to the level of YourStory, Inc42, Bizzaro, ShoutMeLoud etc. I’ve been always inspired by these platform owner stories.
